Remove Hardware" Feature....But If We Select Safely Remove 

Hardware Option Then windows Will stop all the read-write 

operations on the drive so that the drive can be removed..It Is 

Highly Recommended To Use This Option When You Unplug Your 

Pendrive.

But Sometimes When We Select "Safely Remove Hardware" 

Window Give Us A Error Like 

"The Device Generic volume cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device later "

Start To Fix It...


STEP 1: Download A Small Software Named UNLOCKER Unlocker Is a Small Utility Use To Unlock The File Handles Of Your Pendrive Which Is used By Other Applications.

Click Here To Download Unlocker

STEP 2:Install UNLOCKER on Your Computer.

STEP 3:Right Click On USB Drive In My Computer And Select Unlocker.

STEP 4:A new Small Window Will Pop-up Which Shows All The Busy File Handles Of File Being Used On Your Pendrive.

Click On Unlock All...And Then Try To Remove Your Pendrive...

STEP 5:Double click the key WriteProtect in the right pane and set the value Of Value Data Section to 0

STEP 3:Click On Disk Management.Then A Disk Management Window Will Appear At Right

STEP 4:On this disk management window, you can see some drives including the portable drive Or Pendrive. Right click on your Pendrive and click change drive letter and paths. A Small Window Will Appear.


STEP 5:Now Click On Change And Assign A New Drive Letter To Your Pendrive Which Is Not Used By Any Of Your Hard disk drives.

STEP 6:After assigning the new drive letter your Pendrive will show up in my computer with other drives.If Not Then Reboot Your Computer.. :)

Second Method

STEP 1:Plug In Your Pendrive,Click On Start

STEP 3:A Computer Management Window Will Open.

STEP 4:Select Disk Management,immediately A Disk Management Window Will Appear On Right Side.

STEP 5:Right Click On Your Pendrive There..Then Select Format.




Third Method

STEP 1:Plug-in Your Pendrive.

STEP 2:insert Window Installation Cd And Reboot Your Computer.

STEP 3:Enter Any Key And Proceed With Installation..At Some 

Point Of Time It Will Give You A Option Like "Format Your Pc" 

Proceed With It By Pressing Enter Key.

STEP 4:After That Windows Will Detect All Your Hard-disk Partion 

And Pendrive Also And Show Them On Screen.

Select Your Pendrive Ther And Press "Delete" Key To Format 

Your Pendrive..

Almost Every Time This Trick Works..:)

Check That List Correctly..You Will Find A "Unknown Device"

    STEP 6: Right Click On "Unknown Device" And Click On         Uninstall. This Will Uninstall The Malfunctioned Device Driver.

    STEP 7:After That Right Click On Any Of The Device Driver In List And Click On "Scan For Hardware Changes".This Will Install The New Driver For Your USB Device Or Pendrive Automatically.
